Departure at 7:50 am from hotel to Rifugio Sapienza, alt. 1900 mt, the place where the excursion will start from at about 9:00 am. An Alpine Guide will take you first by cable car “Funivia dell'Etna” and then by off road vans until 2900 mt altitude, in the so called area Torre del Filosofo” at the foot of South-East Crater, so close to summit craters.

Guides will take you and visit two craters created by the eruption of 2002/2003, there, in good weather you will enjoy a view that ranges from Jonic Riviera to inner Sicily. Return to starting termnal of cable car. Break for lunch. Return to hotel.
